Switchyard

A concentration of electrical equipment which connects two or more electric circuits through switches, selectively arranged in order to permit a circuit to be disconnected or to change the electric connection between the circuits. In a hydroelectric project, the switchyard is the point at which the energy generated at the project is connected to the transmission or distribution system.
