On March 7, 2016, LIHI released a revised, 2nd Edition of the LIHI Certification Handbook that implements new procedures based on revised low-impact Criteria. With the release of the 2nd Edition Handbook, LIHI also announced that any intakes received prior to January 1, 2016, would be entitled to submit their applications using the 2014 process, effectively grandfathering those applications under the prior Criteria and Handbook.  This policy was made as a curtesy to intake applicants to minimize additional effort.

This is a reminder that all such grandfathered Intakes expire on December 31, 2016.  Applicants who have received LIHI Intake Report Transmittals completed using the April 2014 Edition of the LIHI Certification Handbook (or any earlier version) and who wish to submit their application using the grandfathered intake review must submit a complete application package prior to December 31, 2016.  A complete application package includes all necessary supporting documentation requested in the transmittal letter, as well as payment of the recertification application review fee.  After December 31, 2016 applicants with previously grandfathered intakes must contact LIHI staff for instructions on filing applications in the new format.
