Nicholas Niiro is an associate at Rogers Joseph O’Donnell in San Francisco, California, where he works as a member of the firm’s Environmental Law and Retail Industry Trade Regulation Practice Groups. Mr. Niiro has broad experience with federal, state, and local environmental statutes and regulations, including the California Environmental Quality Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Federal Power Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act. He has represented clients in environmental matters before state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, including the California State Water Resources Control Board and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Mr. Niiro has significant experience as a jury consultant, where he assisted in developing trial strategy in environmental and toxic tort cases.
Mr. Niiro is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown Law, he was on the Dean’s List and served as both Senior Editor of the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review and as a Board Member of OutLaw. Prior to law school, he graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in biochemistry and was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honors Societies.
In addition to serving as a Board Member and Secretary of the Low Impact Hydropower Institute Nicholas is currently a Board Member and Treasurer of the San Francisco Tsunami Swim Club.
