Steve Malloch is Principal at the consulting firm Western Water Futures LLC based in Seattle. He has been involved with water resources issues for the last 25 years, in a variety of capacities – hydrogeologist, attorney, federal lobbyist and advocate. He has been involved with hydropower since the mid-1990’s as a consultant and lobbyist for conservation organizations on federal legislation. As a consultant to American Rivers, he helped shape the strategy and organization for the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI) and continues to serve on its Board of Directors. As Counsel to Trout Unlimited’s Western Water Project, Steve became deeply involved in FERC, incentive and transmission issues in Energy Bills. Steve has worked on improving the environmental performance of the Bureau of Reclamation in a number of capacities. He holds degrees in Geology and law (B.S. and J.D. University of California, Davis) and water resources (M.S. University of Arizona).
