Shawn Keniston

As Director of External Affairs and Hydro Relicensing for TransCanada Shawn’s responsibilities include: managing regulatory and governmental affairs as well as FERC license compliance and on-going relicensing efforts for 13 hydro generating stations on the Connecticut and Deerfield Rivers in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Over the past 25 years, Shawn has held a number of hydro operations and engineering roles where his responsibilities included: managing multi-disciplined technical teams responsible for all facets of hydro asset management.  A significant portion of this time has been spent scoping, justifying, licensing and managing several hydro “water to wire” capital restoration projects.

In addition to renewable energy from hydro Shawn has extensive experience with wind energy operations as well as other non-renewable forms of power generation.  Shawn is a registered professional engineer and certified project manager.  Shawn received an MBA from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 1989.  Shawn has been affiliated with and or a member of EPRI, CEATI, NHA and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
