Omay serves as Director of Power Marketing at Gravity Renewables, Inc, a privately funded owner and operator of low impact hydropower projects.  Omay brings a unique perspective to the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI) with a decade of experience in renewable energy development, environmental advocacy and serving higher education institutions. Prior to joining Gravity, Omay was the Director of Project Development at Alteris Renewables and Deputy Director for People’s Power and Light.  In addition to his experience in the energy industry, Mr. Elphick has worked at several regional watershed organizations including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Save The Bay, (Narragansett Bay, MA & RI).   Omay received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Skidmore College and a Masters in Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He has been a Senior Fellow at the Environmental Leadership Program in Washington, DC since 2006. Omay lives with his wife and two children in Upstate New York. In his spare time he enjoys wooden boat building and furniture making.
