THE LOW IMPACT HYDROPOWER INSTITUTE (LIHI) HAS INCREASED THE INTAKE REVIEW FEE FROM $750 TO $950 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
At LIHI’s governing board meeting held on October 31, 2013, the board unanimously voted to increase the intake review fee that applicants pay to begin the process of considering a project for LIHI certification. This modest increase will provide necessary additional resources to implement the initial intake review step.
The Intake Review Fee applies to all new projects seeking to enter into the LIHI Certification program. It is intended to provide an easy initial step that will help determine whether a project may be suitable for certification, at a lower cost to the applicant than completing the entire application review. All new projects seeking to enter the program must pay this flat fee. The $950 Intake Review Fee is also included in the total Application Fee for the purpose of calculating the 15 percent annual fee and 20 percent re-certification fee.
This change in fee amount will be reflected in a Handbook revision, to be released by the end of December, 2013.
