Harrington Park, New Jersey (April 3, 2014) – On December 18, 2013, the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI) received an application for a third term of Low Impact Certification of the Pawtucket Project, FERC No. 3689, located on the Blackstone River, in the state of Rhode Island. The current Certificate term is scheduled to expire on April 23, 2014, however the Institute is extending the term of the current Certificate to June 30, 2014 in order to allow for a period of public comment on this application.

We encourage public comments on this application. Specifically, we are interested in knowing whether you think the Pawtucket Project continues to meet our LIHI criteria. Comments must be received at the Institute on or before 5 pm Eastern time on June 3, 2014 to be considered.
